City street department employees unhinge barricades to load them onto a trailer after the Martin Luther King Jr. parade was canceled Saturday because of rain. Street Department supervisor Skipper Whittington said the crew had placed about 100 of 400 barricades along Washington Street for the parade route before they were called off the job. The parade would have been the first time the new barricades were used. Skies were expected to clear today and stay that way throughout the week. (Katie Carter*The Vicksburg Post)
