Man out of dog house, moved into jail

A Warren County man arrested this morning on misdemeanor domestic violence and resisting arrest charges was held after officers found he was wanted on a felony aggravated assault charge.
Warren County deputies had been called to the home of John D. Ellis, 42, 4425 Lee Road, on a report of domestic violence and found him hiding in a dog house, Sheriff Martin Pace said.
After checking, deputies found Ellis was wanted on the felony charge in Ridgeland. Ridgeland police gave no details of the charge, Pace said.
Ellis was being held without bond at the Warren County Jail.
The victim was not reported injured, he said.
Video game reported stolen from Chevrolet
Metal and a game system were among items reported missing in Vicksburg Wednesday, police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.
A PlayStation PSP valued at $120, a black leather coat valued at $200 and 15 PSP games valued at $15 each were reported stolen from an unlocked 1989 Chevrolet Caprice in the 2700 block of Drummond Street at 7:42 p.m.
Copper wiring valued at $500 was reported stolen from an unoccupied house in the 100 block of Williams Street at 10:36 a.m.
Man, woman killed in Edwards wreck
An Edwards man and woman were killed after being thrown from a vehicle during a wreck on U.S. 80 Tuesday night.
Theresa Gattis, 54, was headed east at 7:24 p.m. before she lost control of her Kia Sportage and drove off the road, flipped and hit a tree, reports showed.
Gattis and a passenger, John Sanders, 53, suffered blunt force trauma to the head and body before being pronounced dead at 8:06 p.m. at the scene by Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart, said Stephanie Meachum, office manager for the coroner.
Neither was wearing a seat belt, reports showed.
Another passenger, whose name was not available, was in critical condition today at the University Medical Center in Jackson, Meachum said.
