Tom Shaw, an engineer, has been named manager of a construction project at the Corps’ Engineer Research and Development Center.

Shaw, who began his career with the Corps as a mechanical engineer in the Engineering Division’s Design Branch, will be responsible for oversight and coordination of all design and construction projects. He had worked previously for 10 years with a private engineering practice.

Shaw, who has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Mississippi State University, is a registered professional engineer in Mississippi and is certified in green design.

He is a Clinton native. He and his wife, Becky, have two children.
