Dr. Willie L. McArthur

FAYETTE — Dr. Willie L. McArthur died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 66.
Dr. McArthur graduated from Alexander High School in Brookhaven and Tougaloo College. He received a master’s degree from Atlanta University and his medical degree from University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was a family medicine practitioner in Fayette and a member of Mount Wade M.B. Church in Brookhaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jefferson and Lucretia Gaston McArthur; aunts; uncles; and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Mable Bracy McArthur of Fayette; four sons, Edward McArthur of Brookhaven, Mark McArthur and Torance McArthur, both of Fayette, and Norris McArthur of Phoenix, Ariz.; a daughter, Alisha Wilkes of Vicksburg; a sister, Addie Lee Durr of Brookhaven; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Wade M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Brookhaven. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 tonight at Greater Faith Worship Center in Fayette and Friday from noon until 7 p.m. at Tyler Funeral Home in Brookhaven with family present from 6 until 7 p.m.
