Beechwood Elementary fifth-grader Garreth Ayres spells larynx, the winning word of the Warren County District Spelling Bee, Thursday in the auditorium at Bowmar Elementary.  Eighth-grader Julianne Ranis, right, was the runner-up. Eleven students from Vicksburg Warren School District and Vicksburg Catholic Schools competed in the bee. Garreth will compete in the State Spelling Bee on March 16 at Mississippi Public Broadcasting in Jackson. Garreth is the son of Macon Ayres and Angela Gallagher.
