‘Incentives’ shouldn’t hurt

As a retiree, I have seen the economy in many different stages and I have never heard of trying to kill business when it’s already down. After President Obama’s State of the Union address, we aren’t all that surprised by the issues that were pushed to the forefront. It’s funny how he laid out solutions to some issues and then contradicted those solutions when he talked about solutions for a different issue.
For example, Obama spoke about the need for more jobs and how to create the jobs. He spoke of helping small businesses and having incentives to help them stay afloat. All of these things are great aspirations but at what cost do they come? He spoke about the need to pass comprehensive climate change legislation and giving incentives to the green companies, but what about the jobs that already exist in the oil and gas industry? What happens to the small businesses when you take their incentives away in the form of fees because of cap and trade legislation being passed?
