The 2010 Lenten Fine Arts Series will kick off Feb. 19 with an art show.
Events will be at The Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, at South and Monroe streets.
The show will be from 5 to 7 p.m., and a seafood gumbo lunch and entertainment will be offered from 12:05 p.m. to 12:35 p.m. each Friday through March 26. Food is $10. Call 601-636-0542 for tickets.

• Feb. 19 — Van Wade-Day art show.
• Feb. 26 — Crawford Street Handbells Choir.
• March 5 — Kelly Smith Toney, violinist.
• March 12 — Bridging The Gap.
• March 19 — Broadway Meets the Bible.
• March 26 — Beechwood Elementary Honor Choir.
Locals’ art focus of VAA meeting
The Vicksburg Art Association’s February meeting will be at the home of Robert and Ginny Abraham, 107 Lakewood Hills.
The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday and feature the Abrahams’ art collection.

Latin tunes on tap at Southern Cultural
The Vicksburg Music Teachers Association will present a festival of Latin music Feb. 28 at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.
The festival and recital will begin at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The event will feature performances by VMTA students and teachers, as well as Alcorn State University students and piano instructor Bernardo Scarambone, a native of Brazil.

Reverend teaching stained glass class
The Southern Cultural Heritage Center will offer a beginning stained glass workshop each Tuesday in March.
Students will learn to build a small stained glass panel using the Tiffany style.
The Rev. Mark Bleakley of Holy Cross Anglican Church will teach. The class will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 9, 16, 23 and 30. Cost is $160 for SCHF members and $170 for nonmembers.

Genealogists meet Monday at library
The Vicksburg Genealogical Society will meet at 10 a.m. Monday at the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library.
Director of the Tunica Museum and Bovina native Dr. Richard Taylor will deliver a lecture, “Jimmie Doolittle’s Raiders.”
