Thomas Duke Pettway Sr., 67, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, in Bay St. Louis.

He was born Dec. 6, 1942, in Vicksburg. He attended school at Oak Ridge and Culkin Academy. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was the owner of TP Autos. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by this son, Thomas Duke Pettway Jr.; his parents, Bilbo and Estelle Pettway; and sister-in-law, Pat Pettway of Vicksburg.

Mr. Pettway is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rubie Pettway of Bay St. Louis; his daughters, Kimerlon “Charlie” Pettway of Orlando, Fla., and Martha “Marnie” Boyd of Texas; brothers and their wives, Bill Pettway, Lester “Lucky” and Sandy Pettway, both from Vicksburg, and Jim and Debbie Ann Pettway, Kenny and Tina Pettway and Ted and Cindy Pettway, all of Columbia, S.C.; sisters, Vernie Ann Cason of Springdale, Ark., and Debbie Lou and Mike Garcia of Chumakla, Fla.; his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, one of whom he raised, Darrick Sones Pettway.

Visitation is Tuesday, Feb. 9, from 5 until 7 p.m. Services will follow at 7 under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
