An Edwards man was charged Tuesday afternoon with arson in a string of fires in Vicksburg and Warren County, including a blaze that destroyed four homes and a business Jan. 25 at Jackson and Second North streets.

Leroy Evans, 32, 1762 Mississippi 27, has been charged with nine counts of arson following an investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Vicksburg fire and police departments. 

Evans was in Warren County Jail pending an initial appearance before Warren County Justice Court at 9 a.m. Wednesday.
