DETROIT — Lucy Straughter died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Odyssey House Hospice in Southfield, Mich. She was 78.

Mrs. Straughter was a native of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fannie Brown and Elijah Williams; and her husband, Walter Straughter.

Survivors include her daughter, Delores Straughter of Southfield; a son, Raymond Straughter of Detroit; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be Monday at O.H. Pye Funeral Home in Detroit. Burial will follow at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.
