Lewis M. Bridges

MONTICELLO — Lewis M. Bridges died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. He was 76.
Mr. Bridges was a retired minister of music at Monticello Baptist Church and a retired salesman for Mississippi Industries for the Blind. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Monticello Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Iddo Lampton Bridges and Maggie Louise Murk Bridges.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elsie Flowers Bridges of Monticello; three daughters, Karen Kittrell and husband Marty of Vicksburg, Wanda Pennington and husband Jerry of Monticello, and Sonja Jones and husband Henry of Wesson; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Monticello Baptist Church. Visitation is Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. and Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Monticello Baptist Church or to a favorite charity.
