A Vicksburg massage therapist has been elected as second vice president of the Mississippi chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Sandra Thomas, a therapist at Cypress Pilates and Shape Up Sisters, was elected Feb. 6 to the board, which has eight members.

She serves as a massage therapist for the AMTA’s sports team, traveling around the state to sporting events.

A graduate of the Mississippi School of Therapeutic Massage, Thomas has been a licensed massage therapist since July.
