O.E. Womack Sr.

UTICA — O.E. “Gene” Womack Sr. died Sunday, April 4, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 88.

Mr. Womack was born in Hinds County and lived most of his life in Adams County before moving to Utica. He owned and managed Natchez Equipment Co. for 59 years. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II.

He was a member of Jefferson Street Methodist Church, where he served on the Board of Stewards.

Survivors include his wife, Louise S. Womack of Utica; two sons, O.E. “Sonny” Womack Jr. of Utica and Kenneth Howard Womack of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Inez Downing of Raymond, Lucy Lee Ford of Jackson and Laura Jenkins of Terry; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cayuga Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Polk officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Alex Womack, Bill Womack, Robert Womack, Douglas Womack, Paul Womack and Mike Womack.
