Lem E. Poteete Jr.

Lem E. Poteete Jr. died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 90.

Mr. Poteete was born in Byhalia to Lem Poteete Sr. and Jimmie Tubbs Poteete. He served in the Army Headquarters Detachment, 81st Ordnance Battalion, during World War II. He was a retired heavy-equipment operator and a member of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ola Lee Richardson and Edna McDaniel; and by four brothers, Elbert Poteete, W.M. “Red” Poteete, James Woodrow Poteete and Bailey E. Poteete.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be in Memphis under the direction of Forest Hill Funeral Home. Riles Funeral Home assisted with local arrangements.
