Matthew Warren threw a no-hitter, and Porters Chapel locked up a playoff spot with a 7-0 win over Russell Christian on Saturday.

Warren walked only one batter and struck out 10. He was helped by a six-run first inning that gave him plenty of breathing room.

John Michael Harris had two hits and two RBIs for the Eagles (11-8, 8-1 District 5-A), and Montana McDaniel doubled. Harris brought in two runs with a single during the big first inning, then circled the bases thanks to an outfield error.

With the win, PCA clinched a playoff berth for the 12th consecutive season. The defending MAIS Class A champions can win the District 5-A title by winning on the road at Calvary Christian today — or losing by less than 10 runs and sweeping a doubleheader at home against district also-ran Mt. Salus on Thursday at 4 p.m.
