Warren Central defeated DeSoto Central on Monday 9-5 and then won the second game 12-6 to advance to the second round of the Class 6A state baseball playoffs.

The Vikings are scheduled to play Madison Central beginning Friday in a best-of-3 series.

St. Aloysius defeated Edinburg 3-0 to win their Class 1A series two games to one.

The Flashes are scheduled to play Nanih Waiya in a best-of-three starting Friday.

Porters Chapel Academy is set for a South State championship series against Riverfield tonight at 7:30.
