HATTIESBURG – For the third time in his career and the second time this season Todd McInnis was named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week, announced today by the C-USA office.
McInnis won his fourth consecutive game on Saturday against East Carolina. McInnis was outstanding for the Golden Eagles, throwing eight complete innings, allowing only one earned run and striking out eight while scattering four hits against the top hitting team in C-USA.
The win on Saturday marked the 24th of his career, which moved him into second place all time at Southern Miss and his eight strikeouts moved him into fifth place on the school’s all-time list, passing the legendary Ray Guy. The Brandon, Miss., native also lowered his C-USA leading ERA to 2.78.
Rice’s Rick Hague earned C-USA Hitter of the Week.
