Mobery Parker removes chicken wire from around his tomato plants Wednesday morning so he can take on his weekly task of tying them up to a stake. Parker said he has to cover them with chicken wire to keep out his 2-year-old lab, Baxter. Parker also grows squash, cucumbers, bell pepper, green beans and Louisiana purple hull peas in his back yard garden at Parkview and Queen streets.
