Claypool to marry Pambianchi

The engagement of Laura Lee Claypool to Dustin Louis Pambianchi, both of Cleveland, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 4 p.m. June 5, 2010, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Cleveland. A reception will follow in the Parish Center of the church. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Miss Claypool is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blaine Claypool Jr. and Angela Phyllis Stephens of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Loranzy Taylor of Waterproof, La., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Blaine Claypool Sr. of Clinton.
Mr. Pambianchi is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen David Pambianchi of Cleveland. He is the grandson of the late E.G “Rich” Richardson and Edith Richardson, the late Jim Pambianchi and Cherrie Pambianchi, all of Cleveland.
The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was named Miss Vicksburg High School. She was selected to the VHS Hall of Fame and served as Student Council president. She was named a homecoming maid for several years and was chosen Junior Class Favorite and Freshman Class Beauty. She served as secretary for the National Honor Society and was a member of the Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta.
She attended Delta State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree and an educational specialist degree, all in elementary education, and an educational specialist degree in school administration and supervision.
She was selected for the DSU Hall of Fame and was named Miss DSU, Homecoming Queen, DSU Greek Woman of the Year, Junior Class Favorite, Junior Class Homecoming Maid and recipient of the Corre Stegall Leadership Award. She served as Student Government Association vice president and secretary, Kappa Delta sorority president and vice president of standards, Omicron Delta Kappa honor society president, Order of Omega honor society president and Mississippi Professional Educators vice president. She was a DSU orientation leader, Grid Iron Girl and Delta Diplomat and a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honor societies, Pageant Board, College Republicans, Union Program Council, Baptist Student Union, Student Alumni Association and Mississippi Delta Reading Council.
She is also a member of Kappa Delta Gamma Society International, Bolivar County Chamber of Commerce Young Leaders Network, DSU Alumni Association Planning Committee, DSU Literacy Enhancement Clinic and the Delta Area Writing Project. She serves as Kappa Delta Bolivar County Alumni president.
Miss Claypool is employed at Margaret Green Junior High School.
The prospective groom is a 2004 graduate of Cleveland High School, where he was a member of the track and cross country teams, swim team and soccer team. He served as vice president of the Student Council and was named Junior Class Favorite, Silliest Sophomore and Jolliest Junior. He was a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Interact Club, C Club and the Cleveland Stag Club.
He received a bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Delta State University, where he was selected for the DSU Hall of Fame and named DSU Greek Man of the Year. He was a DSU orientation leader and served as Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity president and Catholic Student Association vice president.
He was a member of the Intrafraternal Council, Beta Beta Beta Biology Club, College Republicans and Student Alumni Association and was named an Elliot Scholar and Chamber’s Scholar. He was also a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Order of Omega, Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Beta Sigma and Alpha Epsilon Delta honor societies.
Mr. Pambianchi is a member of the Knights of Columbus and DSU Alumni Association Planning Committee. He is employed with Baxter Healthcare Corporation and will attend the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry in the fall.
