Two Vicksburg men were in the Warren County Jail today charged in a statutory rape reported in April.

At 3 p.m. Wednesday, Warren County deputies arrested Anthony L. Terry, 18, at his 110 Eva St. home and charged him in the rape of a girl younger than 14, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Terry also was charged with resisting arrest, Pace said, because he fought with Deputy Robert Taylor, who suffered a broken hand.

Taylor was treated and released from River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Allen Karel said.

At 5:15 p.m., Jay’zarr L. Pugh, 17, 1416 Greenhill Road, surrendered to deputies on the rape charge, Pace said.

Both arrests followed DNA results from the Mississippi Crime Lab, the sheriff said.

Both men were being held without bond pending an initial appearance in court.
