Lester Badeaux

Lester Badeaux died Wednesday, May 26, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.
Mr. Badeaux was born Sept. 23, 1932, in Maurice, La. He graduated from Indian Bayou School and from Hinds Junior College in 1962.
He worked for Vicksburg Chemical Company for 33 years, retiring in 1998.
He was in the U.S. Air Force, Airman 2nd Class, and served in the Korean War as an airplane mechanic. He was a member of the Mississippi Track Team, won many race walks and participated in the Run Thru History and Over the River annually.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nedier Badeaux and Gertie Langilainis; and one sister, Goldie Badeaux.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Ogle Badeaux of Vicksburg; one son, Kenneth Badeaux-Leger of Lafayette, La.; three daughters, Debra Landry of Lafayette, Tammy Vinzant of Senatobia and Donna Shriver of Hattiesburg; a sister, Jean Urdiales of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Greg Clemts and Dwight D. Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Byron Badeaux-Leger, John Vinzant, Caleb Shriver, R.C. Quarles, Oscar Dougherty and Billy Gene Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Johnson, Marvin Muirhead, Mural Carpenter, Russell Shiers and Bob Smith.
