Stamm Family Invitational brings swimmers to town

The Vicksburg Swim Association always has held its own at the Stamm Family Invitational, given its limited numbers.

Thanks to a roster that has exploded in size over the last two years, it’s time to make a run at the top.

The VSA will have 71 swimmers in this weekend’s annual meet at City Pool and it’s the team’s biggest squad in years. In a meet whose outcome is often dominated by larger teams boasting hordes of swimmers, it will give the home team a fighting chance at a top finish in the team standings.

“I’d like to see us finish in the top three. We have the second largest team entered in the meet,” said coach Mathew Mixon, who led the team to a third-place finish last year.
