Miss Brown, Mr. Love to recite vows June 26

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Brown of Port Gibson announce the engagement of their daughter, Shamara AnJohnette of Starkville, to Keegan Lee Love, also of Starkville. Mr. Love is the son of Gloria Love of Tiplersville, Miss.

Miss Brown is granddaughter of the late Cleveland Brown Sr. and Rose Anna Brown of Port Gibson and Reba Posey and the late Douglas Posey Sr. of Centreville.

Mr. Love is the grandson of the late Lee and Sally Mae Love of Tiplersville and the late William and Genie Gaillard of Falkner.

The bride-elect graduated as valedictorian from Port Gibson High School in 1995. She served as Student Council vice president and was a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.

She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master of Science degree in counselor education, both from Mississippi State University. She was a member of Chi Sigma Iota professional counseling honor society and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She earned national board certification, national counselor certification and national school counselor certification.

Miss Brown is employed with the Starkville School District and is a licensed evangelist of the Church of God in Christ.

The prospective groom graduated with honors in 1995 from Falkner High School, where he was a member of Who’s Who Among American High School Students.

He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Mississippi with an emphasis in sculpting. His work was featured in the Mississippi Collegiate Art Show. He was a member of the University of Mississippi Mud Daubers and YAC Arts Council .

Mr. Love is employed with the Starkville School District and his art has been displayed at the Meridian Art Museum, the Artist Guild Gallery of Corinth and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum.

The wedding will be at 4:30 p.m. June 26, 2010, at Peter’s Rock Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Starkville. A reception will follow at the Ritz Theater and Conference Center in West Point. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
