In the continuing search for a missing Warren County man, officials from the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks planned to meet today to “rethink the search area,” Sheriff Martin Pace said.

With volunteers on 4-wheelers and horseback along with deputies on foot again this morning, officials feel the part of Mahannah Wildlife Management Area immediately around where missing Jason Allen Ashley’s Jeep Cherokee was found has been searched, Pace said.

Ashley, 31, was reported missing on May 27 by his family three days after calling to tell his mother he would head home soon from a restaurant on U.S. 61 North. His vehicle was found abandoned off Floweree Road on June 11.

This morning, Pace said Warren County deputies want “to begin looking at different areas.”

Most of the 12,695-acre management area lies in Issaquena County, he said.
