Charles Rex Bingham died Monday, June 28, 2010, at his home. He was 84.

Born in Calhoun County, Mr. Bingham had lived in Vicksburg for the past 45 years. He taught at Carr Central and Cooper high schools for a number of years and retired from Waterways Experiment Station. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gwen M. Bingham of Vicksburg; one son, Charles Martin Bingham of Ruston, La.; one daughter, Beth Hall of Vicksburg; two brothers, Jimmy Bingham of Vicksburg and Kent Bingham of Calhoun City; and two grandchildren.

Private services will be at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. Tim Brown officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.
