BLUE HILL — Susie Anna “Doll” Carroll died Thursday, June 24, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Mrs. Carroll was born in Jefferson County. She was a member of Standfield New Life Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Terry and Elizabeth Scott; her husband, Ben Carroll Sr.; a daughter, Joann Hedrick; two grandchildren, Shaterica Carroll and Jeremy Sims; three sisters, Clara Mae Jones, Martha Walker and Kate Wison; and two brothers, Terry Scott and Willie Scott.

Survivors include her four daughters, Mary Miller, Lovenia Ratliff and Gynette Carroll, all of Vicksburg, and Rosie Carroll of Port Gibson; four sons, Ben Carroll Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio, Jerry Lee Carroll of Port Gibson, Sherry Lee Carroll and Eddie Lee Carrol, both of Vicksburg; a sister, Lucinda Briggs of Sacramento, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Standfield New Life Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. John H. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 7 p.m. Friday at Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette and Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Calvin Jr., James Hill, Eugene Hutton and Bruce Edwards Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Carroll Jr., Jerry Lee Carroll, Sherry Lee Carroll, Eddie Lee Carroll, Charles Doss Jr., Baroncellius Hedrick and Odell Miller.
