MEMPHIS ­— Services for Maggie J. Smith-Vernon will be at noon Saturday at Cedar Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Willie Hardy officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 until 7 at W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith-Vernon died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis. She was 97.

Mrs. Smith-Vernon was a homemaker and the oldest member of Cedar Grove M.B. Church, where she was a member of the choir and the mother board and was the church secretary.
