A Vicksburg man authorities said “preys on the weak” remained in the Warren County Jail this morning after years of avoiding trials on felony charges.

James E. Perkins, 42, 106 Sherman Ave., was expected to appear before Circuit Court Judge James Chaney this week, said Warren County District Attorney Ricky Smith.

Perkins was most recently arrested on Independence Day in the 1200 block of Second North Street. He has a rap sheet dating to 1996, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
