Sara Ann Vispi died Saturday, July 10, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of the late James Bascomb Whitson Sr. and Marguerite Douat Whitson. Mrs. Vispi was a graduate of Carr Central High School, Class of 1956. She was a member of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Mark A. Vispi of Vicksburg; son, Michael M. Vispi (Sheree) of Buford, Ga.; three grandchildren, Ashley, Austin and Alyssa; and brother, James B. Whitson of Columbus.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. P.J. Curley, pastor of St. Michael Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight.

Pallbearers will be James Hossley, Tom McLane, John D. Barnes, Edgar Allen, Willie Hughes and Frank Skinner.
