Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church and in her earlier days attended the Breakfast Club with her Sunday school once a month at Shoney’s. In her early 30s and 40s Florence sewed mother and daughter dresses for each occasion or holiday. She baked cakes on the weekends for friends and family and had quite a large group of customers.

Florence was an excellent cook in her earlier days, and family and friends would always come to her house knowing they would have the best home-cooked Southern food. We will miss her and her cooking, but the recipes will live on. I truly love you Mama, and I know that now you can walk and have that dance with Daddy. Kisses to you and lots of hugs always, Mom; you will forever be in my heart. Always, your baby girl.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Grice, Adam Ryan, Jimmy Hullum, J.C. Hullum, Ted Hullum, Buddy Irby and Donald Roesch.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nathan Fordice, George Roesch, Michael Yount and Charles Calais.
