Meeting Monday
• Authorized advertising road resurfacing and lane-striping projects for parts of seven streets: Blossom Lane, Old Jackson Road, Newmans Road and Kirkland Road.
• Authorized $70,000 in county funds toward the cost of a new fire truck for the Bovina Volunteer Fire Department. The $199,988,1,300-gallon pumper was financed mostly by the state’s Rural Fire Truck Acquisition Assistance Program.
• Approved renewing a contract with Delta Computer Systems to maintain the county’s land and court records. The cost will increase by about $340 a month, County Administrator John Smith said.
• Approved a $100 ad in the St. Aloysius High School football program.
• Recognized District 3 Supervisor Charles Selmon’s election as first vice president of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors.
• Approved reappointing Tom Hill to the Vicksburg Bridge Commission on the recommendation of District 1 Supervisor David McDonald.
• Approved five appointments to Foreign Trade Zone Inc., a business development group of public and industry officials from Vicksburg and Jackson. Named to serve on the panel were McDonald, Mayor Paul Winfield, retired state employment department official Benny Terrell, businessman Fred Farrell and Warren County Port Commission Project Manager Katrina Shirley.
