The number of county car burglary charges against two Vicksburg teens has been reduced from 15 to 12, and bonds have been set for them and a third person facing related charges.

On Monday, Bobby E. Bunton, 17, and Malcolm R. Robertson, 19, no addresses available, were charged with 12 counts of auto burglary, two counts of credit card fraud, burglary of a building and possession of burglary tools, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Formal charges and bond were set Monday in court against the two stemming from break-ins reported Thursday night and Friday morning along Glass and Hartley roads, Red Oak, Impala and Buford drives and Rocky Lane in south Warren County.

“Some of the vehicles were at the same residences,” Pace said. “These 12 county reports are where we know they went into the vehicles.”

The pair also were accused of breaking into a building in the 2100 block of Glass Road and taking a hunting bow, Pace said.

Pace said his deputies were able to recover additional items reported missing.

“We are still interviewing people,” he said. “We have recovered items that were not reported missing. Possibly, people are not aware that their items are missing. We feel strongly we are going to be adding more charges.”

Both were in the Warren County Jail, Bunton on a $180,000 bond and Robertson on a $230,000 bond.

A third teen, Latrice D. Wheatley, 17, 109 Delta Dawn Circle, was charged with two counts of credit card fraud, Pace said.

She was initially charged with an additional accessory after the burglary charge.

“At this point, we feel we cannot prove she entered the cars with the males,” Pace said.

She also was being held, on a $5,000 bond.

Bunton and Robertson also faced city charges for burglaries inside the city limits. On Monday, Vicksburg police charged the two with two counts of auto burglaries and auto theft. Robertson was additionally charged with a residential burglary stemming from a report July 12.

No bonds have been set on the city charges.
