Miss Nail, Mr. Lofton to recite vows Oct. 2

The engagement of Angela Lauren “Angie” Nail of Brandon to Thomas David “Tommy” Lofton Jr. of Mandeville, La., is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Oct. 2, 2010, at Fairview Inn in Jackson. A reception will follow at The River Room in Flowood.

Miss Nail is the daughter of Peggy Jones Nail of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey R. Nail of Jackson. She is the granddaughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Homer B. Nail of Brandon and Mr. and Mrs. Tim Jones of Pearl.

Mr. Lofton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas David Lofton Sr. of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of Mrs. James H. Lofton Sr. and the late Mr. Lofton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Carter, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 2002 graduate of Brandon High School, where she served as president of FBLA and was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club.

She attended the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Miss Nail is a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at UMC in Jackson.

The prospective groom is a 2002 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, Vicksburg Pride band, Madrigals and Quartet and Jazz Band. He is an Eagle Scout.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and is completing a Master of Arts degree in war and society/military history, all from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a member of Phi Alpha Theta history honor society.

Mr. Lofton is historian/curator at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans.
