Charles and Sherlyn Pettway of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Torie, to Paul Henson III. Mr. Henson is the son of Paul Jr. and Donna Henson of Vicksburg.

Miss Pettway is the granddaughter of Paul Pettway of Buna, Texas, and the late Evelyn Pettway and Helen Watson of Tallulah.

Mr. Henson is the grandson of Paul Sr. and Patricia Henson of Spencer, Tenn., and the late Wiley E. and Jean Hambright of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Beta Club, National Honor Society, Student Council, Latin Club, Photography Club, National Art Honor Society, Key Club and Fellowship of Christian Americans.

She attended Mississippi State University, where she was a member of the student chapter of National Association of Veterinary Technicians of America.

Miss Pettway is employed at Woodland Animal Clinic.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he was a member of Odyssey of the Mind/Destination Imagination and varsity football.

He attended Mississippi State University, where he played football and rugby and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Mr. Henson is employed with the U.S. Army Reserve/H&H Marine Services.

The wedding will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 23, 2010, at Wilderness Baptist Church. A reception will follow.
