Evie N. Potter

YAZOO CITY — Evie N. Potter died Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010, at St. Dominic-Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was 80.

Mrs. Potter was born in Sweetwater, Ala., to Edna Ethridge and James Wesley Newton. She was a homemaker and member of Center Ridge Baptist Church in Yazoo City.

She is survived by her husband, James Raiford Potter of Yazoo City; three daughters, Rebecca Peterman and Deborah Buckley, both of Yazoo City, and Anne N. Ketchum of Oxford; two sons, William F. Neal of Vicksburg and James E. Neal of Vaughan; three sisters, Evelyn Sheffield and Nell Wright, both of Alabama, and Margaret Griffin of Utica; and 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Center Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Abel officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home of Yazoo City.

Pallbearers were Jason P. Buckley, Chance Neal, Byron Buckley, Richard Cox, Kendall Ketchum, Brad Peterman, Clint Peterman, Wesley Neal, Neal Buckley and Susan N. Turner.
