A Warren County man was in the Warren County Jail this morning for a drug charge that came after he was stopped due to a misdemeanor traffic violation.
George Alexander, 32, 6801 Paxton Road Lot 35, told Warren County deputies that he was having trouble with his headlights after he stopped his 2000 Ford SUV at the intersection of Old Mississippi 27 and Stenson Road at about 1 this morning, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Suspecting that he had been drinking, deputies searched his vehicle and found a bottle of about a dozen prescription pills in someone else’s name, Pace said.
Alexander was taken into custody for a DUI test, but refused, and a search of his body resulted in more pills, Pace said.
Alexander then was charged with possession of controlled substance and three misdemeanor violations.
He was held without bond.
