The engagement of Leigh Jolly Merritt to Steven Keith Heigle, both of Vicksburg, is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 5 p.m. Sept. 18, 2010, at Magnolia Bluff, 1100 Warrenton Road. A reception will follow the ceremony at 6 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited to attend the reception.

Ms. Merritt is the daughter of Randy H. and Sara Rebecca Jolly of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Thomas Jolly of Philadelphia and the late Maj. and Mrs. William Gilmore of Jackson.

Mr. Heigle is the son of Fonda Denise Rowan of Vicksburg and the late Roger Keith Heigle of Mayersville. He is the grandson of Roger Heigle of Anguilla, Joann Simmons of Cary and Wynona Blakeney of Rolling Fork.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Vicksburg High School. She received associate degrees in culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management from Hinds Community College.

Ms. Merritt is employed in night audit at Quality Inn and in sales at Perfumania.

The prospective groom attended Sharkey-Issaquena Academy and Hinds Community College.
