PORT GIBSON — Gladys Walker Neal died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 74.

Mrs. Neal was a member and mother at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church in Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Georgia Eggleston Walker; and her husband, Bennie Neal Sr.

Survivors include six sons, Eddie Walker of Pensacola, Fla., Calvin Walker of Philadelphia, Pa., Garrell Stewart of D’Iberville, Grover Walker of Buffalo, N.Y., Myron Walker of Dallas, Texas, and Bennie Walker Jr. of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Yovonna Walker, Tressie Neal and Sydalgia Neal, all of Port Gibson, and Lisa Neal-Henderson of Vicksburg; one brother, George Walker of Vicksburg; one sister, Bobbie Warren Jackson of Missouri City, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Gwendolyn Brooks of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater St. Mark M.B. Church with the Rev. Leon Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at Thompson Funeral Home with family hour from 7 until 8 tonight and at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
