Jeannett Mahoney was born Oct. 2, 1929, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. She departed this life Sept. 12, 2010, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

She was married in 1980 to Don Mahoney, who preceded her in death.

Jeannett became a member of New Christian Fellowship Church in the late 1970s, where she and Don founded Christian Volunteer Service, a nonprofit outreach ministry to Claiborne County.

She leaves to mourn the following family: one brother, William Guillet of Queens-land, Australia; a sister, Tiny Soeters of Rotterdam; one son, Ernie Hirt and wife Debbie of Byram; one daughter, Heidi Kroptavich and husband Mike of Jackson; one granddaughter, Brooke Elizabeth Kroptavich, also of Jackson; brother-in-law, Tony Kicken of Australia; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Jeannett’s memorial service will be held at New Christian Fellowship Church Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at 1 p.m. Bishop Randal Burge will be officiating.
