A Vicksburg man wanted by police on robbery and assault charges was returned to Vicksburg Saturday after being arrested in Missouri.

Jamal Stowers, 22, 128 Village Drive, had been wanted since July 16 in a burglary and assault on July 5 at a home in the 1000 block of Howard Street. His sister, Tamisha Stowers, 30, of the same address, was charged July 9 in the burglary, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Tamisha Stowers also was charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery before being released on a $75,000 bond.

Stewart said the victim, a 74-year-old man, told police that a woman and three men entered his home, hit him with a pistol and took $3,000 and a watch.

Police are still looking for the other two people, who have not been identified, Stewart said.

Jamal Stowers was arrested in Kansas City Sept. 3 on unrelated charges and was found to have a warrant.

Upon his return, Jamal Stowers was charged with residential burglary, aggravated assault and armed robbery, Stewart said.

He was being held without bond in the Warren County Jail because at the time of the Howard Street crimes he had been out on bond from a grand larceny charge in October. In that case, he and two others are accused of staging a robbery at a night deposit box at a bank on U.S. 61 North.
