Mary Carroll Fairchilds Mundy Williams, 91, of Forest, Miss., passed away on Sept. 27, 2010.
She was born to Ella Turner Carroll and Jim Isaiah Carroll on May 7, 1919.
Visitation will be at 1 today with services at 3 at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest with interment at Morton Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Howard Herring and the Rev. Paul E. Polk will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Fred, Ernest, Charlie and Joe; and her sister, Inez Wallace. She had three wonderful husbands who preceded her in death, Jimmie D. Fairchilds Sr., Crisler Mundy and Noel Rudolph Williams.
She is survived by her daughters; Mari Sue Wells (Warner), Peggy Throckmorton (Danny), and Janie Gebheim (Gerald); and her son, Jimmy D. Fairchilds III (Judy); as well as three stepdaughters, Charlotte Tate, Becky Smith and Lisa Williams; and two stepsons, Rudy Williams and Ronnie Williams. She has 10 grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Mason (Dr. Mark), Dr. Ab Wilkinson (Laura), Marc Cirlot (Jill), Genevieve McLeod (Mark), Jimmy D. Fairchilds III, Gelaine Gebheim, Christopher Wilkinson (Stacie), Lance Throckmorton, Jack K. Fairchilds and Kristi Goodson (Michael); as well as 17 great-grandchildren, Ivy and Karen Ann Mason, Jordan, Mattox and Brynn Wilkinson, Ashley and Morgan Cirlot, Emily, Gabe and Davis McLeod, and Rebecca and Sarah Goodson; as well as a host of stepgrandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Williams graduated from Goodhope High School. She had been a member of the Eastern Star No. 168, serving as Worthy Matron, VFW Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was retired from Sunbeam Corporation. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Forest. She was an avid fisherman and carried her love for basketball throughout her life after having played at Goodhope. She always had a ball around so that she could teach her grandchildren and great-grandchildren the sport.
