Richard Kelly Turnipseed died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2010, at his home. He was 72.

Mr. Turnipseed was raised in Carthage and moved to Vicksburg in 1972. He was a graduate of Mississippi State and was retired from the Vicksburg District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Lee and Nadine Turnipseed; and a son, Patrick Turnipseed.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna Turnipseed of Vicksburg; and a son, Thomas Turnipseed of Jackson.

Graveside services, directed by Glenwood Funeral Home, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Green Acres Memorial Park.
