MOUNT VERNON, Ill. — Mid Mack Neal Sr., a former resident of Vicksburg, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010. He was 80.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Zelma Lee Rhone-Neal; a son, Mid Mack Neal Jr.; his parents, Collie Jerry Neal Sr. and Alean Neal; and three brothers, Collie Jerry Neal Jr., Willie Fred Neal and Jonathan Neal Sr.

Survivors include his six sons, Rufus Neal of Illinois, Jimmy Neal of Dumas, Ark., Lin Andrew of Mount Vernon, Roy Neal of Woodbridge, Va., Gregory Neal of New Hope, Minn., and Alvin Berlin of St. Louis Park, Minn.; two daughters, Virgie Neal-Childs of Wayzata, Minn., and Katina Neal of St. Louis Park; a sister, Virgie Moore of Mount Vernon; one brother, Bennie Russell Neal Sr. of Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends including Maxine Douglas of Mount Vernon.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Jackson Funeral Home.
