Porters Chapel United Methodist members have clipped their favorite recipes, hoping to entice folks to come on out to the potluck-style annual fundraiser called Porters Chapel Day.
“We’ve got one or two ladies (from the church) that we have to go pick up their stuff in a pickup truck, they cook so much,” said B.B. Evans, a member of the event planning committee.
The day will kick off at 9:30 a.m. Saturday with a bake sale that will last through the afternoon, ending at 1 —or until the goods run out. Home-cooked dishes will be served from 11 to 1.
Adult plates, which include a meal, dessert and drink, will be $8. Children’s plates, for ages 12 and younger, will be $6. Patrons may eat at the church or take a plate for the road. Delivery is available for orders of six or more.
Proceeds go to upkeep and missionary projects.
