A Vicksburg man was released from the Warren County Jail Friday night after being arrested and charged earlier in the day with embezzlement from his employer, Vicksburg Police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Anthony Ballard, 26, 2636 Roosevelt Ave., is charged with embezzling $3,522 in cash from the Kangaroo, 4150 Washington St., Stewart said.

Stewart said the arrest stems from an investigation by the store’s corporate owner, Pantry Inc..

He was released on $15,000 bond.
