A Warren County teen was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon after falling off a 4-wheeler while texting, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.
Jake Smith, 14, 210 Dogwood Lake Drive, was in fair condition Saturday night at River Region Medical Center, hospital spokesman Diane Gawronski said.
Smith was riding on the utility rack mounted on the back of a 4-wheeler driven by another teen in the 500 block of Fairways Drive, while another teen sat on the other side of the rack, Pace said.
Pace said Smith had lost his balance and had fallen off after dropping a cell phone while texting.
The other two teens were not injured.
Pace would not say if any citations were given because of the age of the teens.
