James Roscoe Calhoun

BROOKHAVEN — James Roscoe Calhoun died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Hospice Ministries. He was 70.

Mr. Calhoun served in the U.S. Army, European Occupation Forces, and was retired from Chevron Oil Field. He was a member of Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church in Brookhaven.

He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1968 and VFW Post No. 2618.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Annie Ruth Calhoun Hoggatt and Fred Hoggatt; and his father, Madison Calhoun.

Survivors include his wife, Dimitria Calhoun; a son, Michael L. Calhoun and wife Jennifer; one brother, Jerry O. Calhoun; grandchild, Alex Calhoun; a sister-in-law, Judy Smith; nephews, Jason Calhoun and Chris Calhoun; and first cousins, Dale Linton and wife Ann, Paul Strait, Billy Strait, Marshall Smith and wife Libby, Jeanette Bounds and husband Dane and Mona Cathey and husband Jimmy.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hawkins Chapel. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hawkins Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
