Frances Maxine Hoben

Frances Maxine Hoben of Vicksburg died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Funeral services will be at 2 today, Nov. 12, 2010, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry White officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:30 until the hour of the service.

Mrs. Hoben was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a bookkeeper for First National Bank, retiring after 26 years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren; she also enjoyed her animals, golfing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Millard and Vivian Wigginton Hurst; her husband, Tommy P. Hoben; one son, Max Hoben; and a brother, James Hurst.

Survivors include her daughters, Rita Hawkins (Mark) and Jeanene Creekmore (Guy Jr.), all of Vicksburg; daughter-in-law, Fran Hoben of Vicksburg; four sisters, Ruby McDowell of Kingfisher, Okla., Wanda Ballard of New Boston, Texas, Billie Jean Still of Rosedale and Patricia Ann Gibson of Ruleville; three brothers, George Hurst of Woodsville, Texas, Johnny Hurst of Oatridge, Okla., and Millard Hurst Jr. of Cleveland, Miss.; grandchildren, Chris McDonald (Delilah), Ryan Hoben, Brittany Creekmore and Daniel Creekmore; and great-grandchildren, Jordan McDonald and Macy McDonald.

Pallbearers will be Chris McDonald, Ryan Hoben, Todd Hoben, Dane Lovell, Daniel Creekmore and Guy Creekmore Sr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Hoben Jr., Purvis Hoben, J.D. Hoben Jr., Ray Hearn, Mike Hoben, Dr. John Studdard and Dr. Randy Easterling.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, American Heart Association or the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society.
