Hopefully a long night in the season opener won’t mean a long season for St. Aloysius.
Terrance Staten scored 10 of his game-high 12 points in the first half, and visiting Hillcrest jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead en route to an easy 60-23 victory over St. Al.
The Flashes had problems handling Hillcrest’s defensive pressure and did not have a single quarter with more than eight points. Hillcrest, which went 26-5 last year, led 33-14 by halftime.
St. Al was led by Matt Wooten with five points.

St. Al had just six players dressed and ended the game with four as two fouled out.
Hillcrest led 32-10 at halftime, then cleared the bench in the second half. Kristen Kliesch led Hillcrest with 14 points.
St. Al was led by Ashtin Giambrone with 11 points and Allie Willis scored seven.
