A La Place, La., man was in the Tensas Parish Jail today after police found 15 pounds of pot stashed in his vehicle’s speakers, said Sheriff Rickey Jones.

Bobby L. Stevenson, 726 Bienville St., is charged with possession with intent to distribute. The drug was found, Jones said, after a Tensas deputy stopped Stevenson on U.S. 65 about 11:30 Monday night for a traffic violation. The deputy said Stevenson looked nervous, so he used a K-9 officer to search the vehicle. A total of $9,000 in marijuana was found, Jones said. Stevenson was being held on $30,000 bond.
